“Yet It Pleased The Lord to Bruise Him”
Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Isa 53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. [Isa 53:9-10 KJV] 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither [was any] deceit in his mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. [Isa 53:10 KJV] 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
What great love was shown to us by GOD the Father and Jesus Christ the Son, that they would make such sacrifice for those that deserve so little. (Romans 5:8) What pain he endured, that we might receive the adoption by faith into the family of Christ. (John 1:12) For his perfect sacrifice, (2Co 5:21) He has made a way for those that repent of their sins and believe on his name, to receive salvation and redemption. (Romans 10:9). On this Good Friday, let’s all take a moment and think about the pain and suffering our Savior endured, as his demonstration of love toward us and his Fathers perfect will that “none should perish” (2 Peter 3:9). What great love, what a great Savior, what great mercy was shown to us through and by the Passion of Jesus Christ! Hopefully now when we read the following verse we’ll have a better understanding the word LOVE in this perfect sacrifice.
[Jhn 3:16 KJV] 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
